“Feòrag” is Scots Gaelic for the Red Squirrel which abound by the lodge. The lodge is a real log cabin offering a covered deck, spacious lounge with vaulted ceiling. Bedrooms: 3, including a king size double and 2 twins. Bathroom with electric shower and WC, kitchen-diner with ample room for 6 at large pine table.
The lodge is hugely comfortable – a place to really chill out and relax. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washer/tumble dryer, kettle, blender etc. together with all cooking utensils, tableware and glassware. The dual aspect lounge has a high vaulted ceiling, comfortable seating, gentle lighting, a mini library, toys and games, iPod dock, CD player with assorted music, DVD player and varied discs and digital flat-screen TV.Private parking for 2 cars and a picnic table outside. The lodge has electric heating and double glazing throughout.
Feòrag Lodge is located on the Western edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park within the Argyll Forest Park. It is less than a mile’s walk to the celebrated Benmore Botanic Garden with its towering Douglas Firs, giant Redwoods and miles of walks and trails. The lodge lies at the edge of mountain forest beside Puck’s Glen where 6 miles of trails offer spectacular views. For the more ambitious walker there is a huge variety of options from walking the high tops, to long coastal sorties with the enchantment of deep glens between. Probably Scotland’s most beautiful freshwater glacial loch, Loch Eck, lies a mile away. The coasts of the Firth of Clyde and Loch Fyne are 15 minutes distant. Fishing, golf, cycling or mountain biking, wildlife watching, sailing and photography, are all popular activities while cultural and retail attractions of Glasgow or Edinburgh are accessible in an easy day-trip.
